    Here, the Schottener Soziale Dienst has done something really good for the region and the people it supports. Always worth a visit. When the weather is good, even the enlarged parking lot is full.

      As a popular excursion destination in the Vogelsberg region, the zoo and adventure park Vogelpark Schotten offers relaxation and adventure on 40,000 m².

      Birds from all over the world await visitors to the lovingly landscaped area. Owls, eagles, cockatoos and many other species - including the large rheas - show the colorful variety of numerous birds from many continents.

      But also large and small four-legged friends are at home in the numerous outdoor enclosures. Whether pigs, goats or sheep: old breeds of domestic animals feel just as comfortable on the lush meadows as exotic llamas. The impressive porcupines and the lively coatis are definitely worth a visit. And of course the other attractions in the park: the little meerkats, the Poitou donkeys, the steppe foxes and, and, and...

      The tropical house with free-flight hall houses reptiles, monkeys and exotic birds. Here you can discover large and small snakes as well as giant spurred and cute four-toed turtles or bearded dragons and green iguanas. You can also experience squirrels jumping wildly and the often exciting everyday life of Liszt and Barbary monkeys.

      Squirrel monkeys and red-handed tamarins live in the small monkey house, which make extensive use of the large playground in front of it and the climbing opportunities provided.

      To Australia for a moment? This is possible in the Schotten bird park, because kangaroos and emus live together in the Australia enclosure.

      A petting zoo for the youngest and many small oases to look around and linger round off what the bird park has to offer.

        The Vogelpark in Schotten is an animal and adventure park at the foot of the Hoherodskopf mountain. It is home to over 60 different animal species from all over the world on more than 40,000 square meters. There are also numerous opportunities to linger and relax in the lovingly landscaped grounds.

        Owls, eagles, cockatoos, and many other species – including rheas – await you in the outdoor area and are a magnificent sight to behold in their colorful diversity.
