The Baita Monte Alto is located at 1380 meters above sea level in a quiet and panoramic area. it is the arrival and departure point for easy and very rewarding hiking itineraries for families and Youth Mountaineering groups, as well as a base for long crossings. From the outside of the hut the gaze can sweep 360 degrees with the view of the nearby Orobic and Brescia Alps up to the distant Adamello. The hut can be reached through numerous itineraries and is located in the center of the crossing between the laces of Valgandino. The hut is owned by the municipality and is managed on loan for use by the CAI Valgandino. The idea of this hut was born with an eye to young people and youth mountaineering groups. The management and food service is performed by volunteers from six groups who alternate on weekends.
