The Stadwaldhaus is an excursion restaurant for around 3000 guests and can look back on an eventful history.

The building was erected in 1911 and misused by the National Socialists during the Second World War and then by English soldiers.

Later demolition plans were not implemented at the request of the Krefeld citizens.

Currently it makes a rather ghostly impression due to the corona.

As early as July 9, 1902, the "Stadtwaldschänke" opened here at Hüttenallee 108, built by the architect Herrmann Bergerfurth. The plastered building with a sandstone base and ashlar window frames, as well as half-hipped roofs, was built in the same style as the "Haus des Stadtwaldwarters" at Hüttenallee 26, which was built by the same architect at the same time. Kurhaus im Stadtwald", known today as the "Stadtwaldhaus". Despite the main floor being three meters higher than the original building, the architect Georg Bruggaier sensitively and successfully connected the extension to the old forest tavern. Overall, the building axis of the entire complex is 83 meters long. The concert shell, also designed by Bruggaier, rounds off the ensemble with its beer garden designed for 3000 guests.
