These are milestones from the Danish period in which these roads were built between 1830 and 1845 in the then Duchy of Holstein. These markings can be found on the Chausseen from Altona to Kiel, Lübeck and Neustadt and the Chaussee from Hamburg to Elmenhorst. Here are the milestones on the Altona-Kieler Chaussee that are designed as truncated cones. The full milestones (V) each have a highlighted royal monogram Frederik VI on the front. and below the year 1832. The half-milestones (H) also have the distance "½ M" below the year; the full milestones show the distance to Altona and Kiel on the left and right. The beginning of the street is marked in Kiel by an obelisk (O). The distances on the milestones are given in Danish miles of 7.532 kilometers each.
