In the town of Sluis you should make a walk through the partially well-preserved fortifications. The town hall (built in 1390) is the only one in the Netherlands with a belfry. Sluis has a special position as a shopping center: Shops are open seven days a week. Since Sluis was formerly considered a border town, typical duty-paid goods such as alcohol, cigarettes and cosmetics are still sold tax-free today. Result: A mass of tourists animates the town.

Definitely worth a stop to get to know the cozy center. Why? Sluis is a wonderful city for the true Burgundian. You will find many shops, restaurants and cafes there. The range of shops varies enormously and that is what makes shopping in Sluis so much fun. Not much of a shopper? Then visit the Belfry or take a walk on the ramparts of Sluis and discover the rich history of the city.
