Very nice, unique hut, but you should be in good physical condition and absolutely sure-footed for the ascent. The last piece over the snow field and the via ferrata should not be underestimated.

This hut should be climbed only by or with experienced mountain walks, as the ascent leads over a glacier foothills and not always a trail is available. In addition, an accurate knowledge of the current weather conditions should be available to ensure a safe descent.

At first glance from the valley, the new Schwarzensteinhütte is a huge block. But seen from the outside and inside, it is modern and imposing. The ascent was exhausting, but the view from the hut down into the valley made up for it. Very nice. However, we also had an imperial bet
