Everything you would like to know about the fauna and flora in the Gewestbos can be found here in a spacious information hut.
Info point also offers shelter and shade in bright sun or heavy rain.

The Zuid-Ravels regional forest, former experimental forest from the beginning of the 20th century, is more than worth a discovery.
In the first decades of the 20th century, the former heathland was plowed, leveled and drained through a network of canals and ditches. The intention of the government was to apply a number of new afforestation methods in order to improve wood production on the Kempen sandy soil.

In 2019, a semi-open shelter was built with seating, made of Douglas wood. The new shelter can be reached via the footpath on the west side of the Kesseven, called "Het Miezerige paadje". The shelter was built by Houthandel Van Dal from Esbeek, commissioned by (the Belgian) foundation Natuur & Bos. Het Miezerige Paadje is a narrow small path along the banks of the Kesseven and the Klotven. The path is about a kilometer long and runs through a wooded area. The path can sometimes be a bit muddy, but it is a beautiful place to walk or cycle. The path offers beautiful views over the fens and the forest.
