The hut stands on the Lipanci scenic mountain on the southeastern slope of Lipanski vrh in the ridge above the Pokljuka plateau. The first mountain lodge on Lipanci was opened by PD Bled on June 6, 1951 in a renovated shepherd's hut. In 1976, they bought a neighboring shepherd's hut from Bled farmers and converted it into a pleasant mountain lodge; it was ceremoniously handed over to the purpose on August 6, 1978.
View:
The view to the east and south first captures the vast forests on the Pokljuka plateau, followed by the Gorenjska plain on the eastern side, and the peaks of the Kamnik Alps rising above it; to the south, the peaks of the Lower Bohinj Mountains rise behind the green area of the Pokljuka and Jelovica forests; the view to the west stops on the nearby south-eastern slopes of Lipanski vrh, Vrh Razor and Debeli vrh; north of the hut, the slopes of Debela peč are already rising, and to the right, the Karavanke ridge with Stol can be seen through the forests.
