The Schaafheim coat of arms can be seen on the left side of the town hall. It is divided into two halves, upper and lower. The upper half is in turn divided into 4 fields. In the upper half, the 1st and 4th fields show the three thin red rafters (bars) on a yellow/orange background. The 2nd and 3rd fields show the black Lichtenberg lion standing on its hind legs. The lower half of the coat of arms contains the actual local coat of arms, a lamb (not a sheep!) with a church flag standing upright over a so-called wolf rod lying below. Three hills can be seen in the background of the lamb. The restored pillory on the corner of the house is also particularly worth seeing. Convicts were chained here with collars, hand and ankle shackles. The public could then insult and spit on the denounced.
