                If you hike eastward across the Alb plateau from the Klippeneck parking lot, along the edge of the gliding airfield, you will inevitably pass the Steineberg Chapel. It was formerly a so-called "weather chapel" for farmers. The chapel is located at the foot of the 993 m high Steinenberg, near a derelict mountain farm. This farm was built in 1884 but had to be abandoned after a few years.

                On June 5, 1994, the new Steineberg Chapel on the Klippeneck was consecrated with an ecumenical service. A limestone stele was erected on the restored foundations of the previous chapel, the inscription of which reads: "Steineberg Chapel built in 1861 by Valentin Hauser, dilapidated in 1943, rebuilt in 1993." Valentin Hauser's descendants are also the builders of the new chapel on the high plateau of the Swabian Alb.
