Wettinhöhe Castle is a great vantage point. The castle has also been available for purchase for some time. The price online is asking for €6.85 million. Bargain alert.

The hilltop and winery, known as Wettinshöhe since the middle of the 18th century, belonged to the early modern bishop's estate. The "House Wettinhöhe" there was expanded in the late 19th century by the Lößnitz construction company "Gebrüder Ziller" to become the representative "Schloss Wettinhöhe", which is well known today. Today, unfortunately, there is a high wall and no access as it is privately owned.

The "Himmelsleiter" leading up is a bit weathered, you can also say "close to nature", but is still safe to climb (February 2022). At the top of the stairs in front of the castle there is a small rest area with a wonderful view.
