The parish church of St. George in the Mundelfingen district was built in 1750/51 according to plans by the master builder Peter Thumb and consecrated eleven years later by the auxiliary bishop Fugger from Constance. Pastor Weltin was able to persuade Peter Thumb, the well-known and renowned architect and master builder from Vorarlberg, to build the church. Important church and monastery buildings, as well as secular buildings, were designed by him and built under his direction.
