Incredibly beautiful, a work of art. The late baroque basilica was built as a monastery church in the middle of the 18th century. The rich interior includes frescoes on the dome and ceiling as well as altarpieces by cousins Johann Jakob and Franz Anton Zeiller from Tyrol, stucco figures by Johann Joseph Christian and stucco works by Johann Michael Feuchtmayer the Younger.

Ottobeuren Monastery is a Benedictine abbey in Ottobeuren in Upper Swabia. The building complex, also known as the "Swabian Escorial", is located in the Diocese of Augsburg. The abbey belongs to the Bavarian Benedictine Congregation.
