The Gambarogno Botanical Garden, located in Vairano-San Nazzaro, is known for its collection of camellias and magnolias, one of the richest in Europe. Thanks to its hillside location, terrain and climatic conditions, 950 varieties of camellias and almost as many magnolias of great rarity grow together with azaleas, rhododendrons and other ornamental plants. The flowering period lasts several months; the best time to visit is spring: from March to May the park is a veritable sea of flowers. The view of Lake Maggiore and the Alps is priceless.
