          On the way between Börfink and the Gray Cross there is a stone source. According to legend, once a blind shepherd had washed his eyes with the spring water and was able to see again afterwards. Since then, the source was called "de gure Bure" (High German: Guter Born). Born is a historical or poetic name for a fountain. The water should also cure the "freckle", a skin rash that especially children get on the head or face. The water was brought home to wash the sick. In particular, skin blemishes in infants were washed with the water from the source.
