Since 2015, the »Persil« steam storage locomotive has stood at the new roundabout on the ring road in Hitdorf as a technical monument.
It is reminiscent of the former small train Langenfeld Monheim Hitdorf, which passed here from 1908 to 1986.
The locomotive set up in Hitdorf was built in 1914 by the Aktiengesellschaft für Lokomotivbau Hohenzollern (factory number 3307).

Name of the detergent "Persil" used in the Düsseldorf-Reisholz plant for shunting operations. It was the first locomotive that

In 1951 the locomotive was sold to the company Papier & Pappe in Viersen-Süchteln. She then came to the United
Packaging company (formerly Rheinische Pappenfabrik) in Monheim-Blee and was used there for maneuvering and for trips to the
Hitdorf port used. The locomotive has stood on a playground in Hitdorf since 1982.
In 2012, the city district council decided that the temporary storage as part of the construction of the flood protection
Historical monument "Persil" steam storage locomotive renovated and permanently erected in the fringe area of the new Hitdorfer roundabout
and preserved as a monument.
