"... The town of Griemeringhausen is located about 1.2 km east of the Marienheide community center and is now seamlessly connected to the community center.
In the 1950s, large areas were built on in Neu-Griemeringhausen. In the early 1990s, many Russian Mennonites settled there.
The town is bordered on the southern edge by the Wipper, better known later as the Wupper. To the northeast is the Griemeringhausen industrial area. From 1964 to 1988, the missile site of the German Federal Armed Forces' 22nd Air Defense Missile Battalion with a number of "Nike" missiles was located on this site..."
