The Davis Dam spans the Colorado River in Pyramid Canyon 100km downstream from Hoover Dam and 140km upstream from Parker Dam. The Mexican Treaty of 1944 required the United States to construct Davis Dam for regulation of water to be delivered to Mexico. The reservoir formed by the dam, Lake Mohave, is used for that purpose through integrated operations of Hoover and Davis Powerplants.
The Davis Dam is a hydro-electric dam that produces between 1-2 terawatt of electricity each year. Behind the dam you'll find Lake Mohave, on which you'll find a number of resorts, watercraft rental shops, restaurants, and marinas. Due to its desert location the lake is a popular year round destination.
