The Fuchskanzel is easiest to reach from the Forsthaus Lückendorf. Von has a good view of the climbing rocks of Weißbachtal, such as the Weißbachzahn.

50 km² of mine, ash, and spoil area, 23% of Polish lignite production, mined since 1947, reaching a depth of 255 m in 2003.

In addition to noise and dust pollution, coal mining across borders is leading to widespread groundwater lowering and associated soil subsidence, extending into the historic old town of Zittau.
