The listed factory owner's villa is around 150 years old and is located in Elsthal, opposite the 1,000-year-old linden tree. It was bought by a woman from Berlin 9 years ago and is now to be renovated and repaired.

Zinna monks are said to have built a water mill here as early as 1250 and planted the "thousand year old linden tree". The mill, which later fell into disrepair, was a gruesome place, which is also remembered in the "Schönhannchen saga".
In the middle of the 19th century, the Fähndrichsche cloth factory with a villa and nearby houses was built here using the water power of the Nuthe. In the meantime, the factory and almost all of the houses have been torn down. The area is now under landscape protection.

It is a winter lime tree (Tilia cordata), which was first referred to as the "millennial linden tree" on a historical postcard. It is certainly not 1,000 years old, it was probably planted there by monks in the 13th century. At that point they had dammed the Nuthe and built a water mill. The linden tree was probably planted to provide a landmark for the mill. The mill later fell into disrepair and inspired the Schönhannchen legend. Today the linden tree is a registered natural monument.
