Loch Laggan stretches for 7 miles (11 km) below the slopes of the formidable Creag Meagaidh. Its eastern tip nudges into the Cairngorms National Park.
The scenery around the loch is stupendous. Glen Roy's golden eagles are known to soar high in the sky above the loch, so keep your senses alert as you take in the views.
The 19th-century Ardverikie House is a grand sight on its southern shore. Built in the Scots Baronial style, it was brought to wider attention as Glenbogle House in the popular television series Monarch of the Glen, which aired between 2000 and 2005.
