The Pforzheim Jewelry Museum is a unique museum on the history of jewelry. Whether mythical, to emphasize status or simply for decoration: jewelry has a long tradition in all cultures. Ever since people have existed, they have adorned themselves with necklaces, rings, paintings, pendants, belts or headdresses. The shapes are as varied as the materials used.
Around 2,000 exhibits show jewelry art from five millennia, from antiquity to the present: artfully and finely crafted pieces of jewelry from the Etruscans, lavish jewels from the Baroque period, important pieces from the Art Nouveau period and a renowned collection of modern jewelry.
