It is the calibration section of the State Office for Surveying and Geoinformation Saxony-Anhalt (LVermGeo). Only permeable to bicycles and pedestrians, unique in Fläming, high-precision measuring devices for national surveying are calibrated here from time to time on defined sections. Here the "Central German standard meter" is maintained along nine 800kg granite blocks. Because Saxony and Thuringia also make use of this 1850m accuracy.
