                In 2020, 75 years after the end of World War II, Floraplatz was reconstructed as it was designed in 1900 at the request of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
                Four life-size, typically North American bronze animals, resting on granite pedestals, line Floraplatz in two spacious semicircles, centered on the "Amazon on Horseback" by Louis Tuaillon (1862-1919). The southern semicircle is formed by two elk, a longhorn bull, and a grizzly bear. The northern semicircle is formed by two resting elk on the left and right, and two bison in the center.
                During a studio visit to the sculptor Rudolf Siemering (1835-1905), Wilhelm II had seen the life-size animal figures that Siemering had created for the George Washington Memorial in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dedicated in 1897. The equestrian statue of George Washington was surrounded by life-size animal figures typical of North America. The Kaiser commissioned replicas for the "Floraplatz," where they were placed in 1900 and intended to commemorate the Tiergarten's tradition as a hunting ground for the prince-electors.
