In 1225, the monastery was built in Wienhausen and has since largely shaped the place. It is the most important monastery in the heath and definitely worth a visit.

Located in the historic center of Wienhausen (5 minutes walk from the monastery) is the brewery Mühlengrund. The first mention of the house can be found in 1589 as "Herrschaftsliches Krughaus Nr. 4". It is therefore one of the oldest buildings in Wienhausen and is of course a listed building. Since the turn of the century, the house is a fully gastronomic operation, which has continued to evolve.
Since 1997, the inn has housed the "smallest mobile brewery in the world" (Guinness Book of Records 1997).

Meanwhile, the house and of course its beer called "Wienhäuser Naturtyp" is known far beyond the regional borders.

Now you say goodbye to the a la carte business, makes only rarely on buffets and NEN upscale food cart in front of the door. Very nice, just a pity, because the seasonal and regional map was great.
