Built at the end of the sixteenth century by order of the Osservanza di San Francesco, the land was donated by the noble Frescobaldi family, while the Franciscan friars took care of the construction of the building and its embellishment, with stone altars, wooden choirs and various other works .
In addition to the church area, the convent is outlined by the central cloister, with a classic rectangular plan, and decorated with tempera paintings depicting the Life of Saint Francis of Assisi, works created in the year 1686.
