The view was very nice even in front of the colorful bench. Now the bank invites you to linger a while and look. Without sunset you can see more of the landscape. :-)
For me it's like saying "good night" in the mountains. Then I always have to think of the alpine glow in the series "Heidi".

The view here is NOT over the Kassel Basin, but over the Fritzla Basin. This was once part of the Chattengau, so named after the Chatten tribe who settled here. They always settled between the Lahn and Fulda on flowing water and near trade routes. In the year 12 BC they turned away from the Roman Empire and were also involved in the Varus Battle in the year 9. The Romans' revenge was to follow later and attack the Chatti beyond the Eder. Despite this, the Romans did not succeed in permanently defeating the Chatti. Since they always stayed in this area, the Chatti are considered the direct ancestors of the Hessians. The first Hessian landgrave to be crowned at Gudensberg was a Chatte.
