    The Barranco de los Cernícalos (Kestrel Canyon) is a nature reserve where water flows throughout the year and there are waterfalls year-round. As the name suggests, many kestrels have their territory in this gorge. You often see them in the sky, they circle and hear them. To walk through this gorge is very worthwhile and is definitely recommended. The path constantly crosses the watercourse and there are really numerous waterfalls (some hidden). The vegetation is also very lush, many ferns, reeds, broom ...

      An overgrown path along the creek. Barranco de los Cernícalos is introduced into a stream bed/gully and runs almost to the village, where it is channeled into a water-carrying gully/lavada.

        Nice easy hike. Passing maybe 3 waterfalls. Hiking boots not necessary. Necessary to return same way.

              The hike is very nice and I can only confirm what others have already written. On the way into the gorge (i.e. down) you have to go through a private area. Until recently, the book seems to have been doing well, but now there's a gate you can't get past once it's closed. Apparently that used to be easy to happen on the sidelines. In addition, it is not always quite certain where exactly you have to go. Having a mobile phone with you and a GPS is therefore necessary for the route!

                      Scenic top. Sometimes, unfortunately, more climbing than hiking. The statement that hiking shoes are not necessary is negligent. Due to the humidity it is so slippery (or at least it was when we were there) that the shoes should at least have a good profile.

                        It's a beautiful tour to the waterfall that's a lot of fun. The path further is closed and makes sense, as the upper path is only for people with mountain experience. In addition, at some point the paths can no longer be clearly found. You have to like something like that 😉
