The pentagonal tower is a defense tower was built in the 15th century. Built in the Gothic style. It is located at the beginning of Decumanus Street, at the entrance to the old town. Meanwhile there is a restaurant in it. It is worth a look from the roof terrace ;-)

The pentagonal tower was erected in 1447 by the then city administrator Nicolò Lion, on the foundations of the earlier medieval tower, which in turn stood on the foundations of the ancient tower.

Today you can see all three layers of the tower because, after detailed research at the end of the 20th century, it was decided to present the complexity of the building.

After a reconstruction that was strictly recommended by conservators, a restaurant was set up here, but the tour is accessible to everyone. On the outer cladding on the top of the tower you can see a relief with the representation of St. Markus, on whom the builders eternalized their names, Ivan and Lazar de Pari.
