At 494 meters long, it narrowly missed the 500-meter mark, but the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge—or Europe Bridge, as it's widely known because it's part of the Europe Trail from Grächen to Zermatt—is currently (August 2017) the longest suspension bridge in the world. Of course, you'll need a head for heights to walk across the bridge's grating, which allows a view down below at any time. A possible test hike for those with a fear of heights is a 100-meter-long suspension bridge near Furi above Zermatt, which extends 90 meters above the Gorner Gorge.

This is currently (Oct. 2017) the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. It is 494 meters long and 85 meters high. The suspension bridge was opened in July 2017. It is located 660 meters above Randa and lies on the Europaweg Grächen-Zermatt. There are several paths and trails from Randa here. The bridge is very well secured and an attraction for the whole family

But it can also be done as a round trip starting from the edge, but the ascent here should not be underestimated.
