The Ohlandsburg is a lost hilltop castle at 380 m above sea level. NN about 1.3 km north of Schwickershausen and between Hasselbach and Eisenbach on the hill named after her in the forests of the Taunus. The originally existing ramparts are still faintly recognizable, only visible on the ground at a height of 10 cm to 20 cm. Most clearly visible is a section wall that separates the castle area from the mountain ridge in the southeast. This is the edge of the system that is at risk of attack. On the other sides, the ridge drops off comparatively steeply. There is a quarry in the immediate vicinity.
The function of the system is unknown. Likewise, the time position has not been researched.
The area of the ramparts is a ground monument according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act. Investigations and targeted collection of finds are subject to approval, and accidental finds are reported to the monument authorities.
The archaeologists still have some work to do here.
