Since the road to Ha'ena beach is private property you have to hike there for 2.5mi (4km) starting south of the beach. The hikes is through the lush green forest parallel to the coast, so can hear the ocean. Be aware that the floor will most likely be very muddy and you'll have to watch your step most of the time due to rocks, roots and well the deep mud. Occasionally the entire path will be covered by a deep puddle, usually you can manage to walk around. However, it is still an exciting hike with a few opportunities to have a look at the cliffs closer to reaching the beach. Once at the beach you'll be rewarde with clear blue water and Honu (Sea Turtles) lying on the rocks. Respect the animals and keep your distance (use a tele zoom for close up photos). Enjoy the swim in the secluded waters.
