    하이킹

Brown Wardle Hill is one of the finest hills in the area and forms a part of the Rossendale Way long-distance trail. Its 1,312-foot summit (400 m) gives excellent views of Rossendale to the west and the South Pennines to the east.

It is easily climbed from both Whitworth and Wardle, the latter having the added interest of Watergrove Reservoir. The vestiges of past industry here give the surroundings a melancholic atmosphere.
