"White women white, here I bring the spit." The famous White Wieven pit from the old Sage about the White Wieven. I would come here when it gets dark but not close, just in case ;)

If you are not so scared: White Wieven trips are organized, where you go into the woods with a group in the evening.

This is an old clay quarry, in which there is always water. At night, wisps of mist rise from it, the "white Wieven". According to the sagas, it is better not to encounter them if you do not have a clear conscience.

This legend tells the story of Johanna, the daughter of a prosperous farmer, who did not want to obey her father and instead fell in love with Albert, the son of a modest farmer. To determine who could marry Johanna, her father devised a challenge with an iron hair spit: Hendrik and Albert had to carry it around the Wievenkoele at night. In the end it was Albert who came out victorious and was the lucky one to marry Johanna.
