Schwarzenbek is the geographical center of the southern part of the Duchy of Lauenburg district. It is not for nothing that we in Schwarzenbek like to call ourselves the "city in the middle".

And as is the nature of a center, Schwarzenbek is also the center of attraction in a small region between the cities of Mölln, Lauenburg, Geesthacht and the municipality of Wentorf near Hamburg.

It is a great place to live and work. All utilities, all types of schools and the proximity to a large number of employers, not least in Hamburg, make the city attractive for its residents and visitors alike.

Rich culture and a lively community have been part of Schwarzenbek for as long as anyone can remember. It is rare to come across a city of comparable size that organizes so many things: markets, trade fairs, sporting events of all kinds, guest theater performances, readings, vernissages... we look for ways, not reasons. So it is always nice to hear that the people of Schwarzenbek don't let anything bad happen to their city.
