Heidkate on the Baltic Sea
Heidkate lies between California and Wendtorf. Heidkate can be reached from Kiel in a north-easterly direction through the provost on the B502. At Barsbeker Mühle, the K33 then heads north directly to this beautiful place, which is directly adjacent to the Baltic Sea. In the south the region is bordered by the "Fernau". It flows from California (Kuhbrücksau) to the Baltic Sea at the Wendtorfer lock.

The local recreation area belongs to the municipality of Wisch with its 700 inhabitants, which is approx. 2.5 kilometers inland and has an area of approx. 920 hectares.
The tree population (forest), which is rather unusual in its size for this region, is one of the special features of the holiday home area. Within this idyllic piece of forest, the visitor will find beautifully situated properties with small holiday homes or weekend houses (Baltic Sea Holiday Colony - ferienkolonie.de). The beach is usually only a few meters (50m - 300m). This sandy beach extends in front of the municipality over a length of approx. 3.7 kilometers and is free of tourist tax.
