The design is by artist Tim Hoefnagels. The artwork reminds us of the illustrious history of the Bels Lijntje, and at the same time refers to the recreational cycle path that the Bels Lijntje is today. A beacon and landmark for residents and visitors.

Hoefnagels, from Budel, was commissioned in 2016 to design a work of art for the celebration of 150 years of Bels Lijntje. The construction calculations for the artwork were complicated. And the production of the artwork by Segno D'arte in Groot Ammers turned out to be a gigantic job. Almost 1,000 working drawings were needed to work out all the details.
