The Derde Reek is a walking path right through the Spierbroek. This 25 hectare nature reserve is an important link in the ecological network around the Scheldt estuary. The nature reserve is home to some striking animal species, such as roe deer, polecats, foxes and stoats.

Spierbroek is one of Klein Brabant's top nature reserves and is definitely worth a visit, except during the breeding season.

The breeding season runs from April 1 to July 30.

Enjoy the swamp forests and swamps. Forest management is currently in full swing.

Gradually, the remaining poplars in the area will be replaced by a natural forest with swamp vegetation.

This nature reserve is in good hands.

On some segments (especially closer to Buitenland) you have to make your way through tall vegetation. Those who shy away from nettles and thistles should stay away from here.

On the Bornem side, the (very straight) path is currently covered with steel plates, due to work in the area of (or on?) a high-voltage pylon.
