The high Dörnberg is one of the highest elevations in the district of Kassel. The place is best reached on foot, but it can also be climbed by mountain bike. On the normal way one reaches the high Dörnberg from the direction of the nature park center past the Helfensteinen over the cow pastures. With the mountain bike this is a bit more difficult as you have to cross gates at the cow pastures. The MTB has to be lifted over it, because otherwise it does not get through the turnstiles. With the EMTB it is often difficult with the over-lifting, because the devices are too heavy. Therefore, it is advisable to climb the high Dörnberg from behind. There are hiking trails, which you can also boot up well with the MTB.

I drove a nice eMTB tour to Dörnberg. Mastered the Alpine single trail from the village of Dörnberg up to the Dörmberg and enjoyed the great view up here.

Plus the great view towards the Helfensteine with the beautiful grass plateau in front. Of course that was my next goal and the descent and drove over the great meadows towards Helfenstein full of anticipation. But then suddenly a man-high fence and the possibility of passage only by passing a turnstile. The eBike did not fit through, it was not possible to lift the fence, so turn around and look for another route.

Had I read Christian's post here before :-(

But I will hit the Helfensteine again from the other side.
