Today, remnants of the Roman and medieval walls can be seen primarily at the present-day town hall, on the street of the same name, "An der Römermauer." There, among other things, the old city wall surrounding the town hall was faithfully rebuilt after bombing raids during World War II destroyed large parts of Bitburg. Parts of the new town hall building were incorporated into an old town tower. The "Green Lake," a moat in front of the city wall, also survived until the present century.

Parts of the Roman and medieval fortifications are preserved on the so-called "Roman wall", among other things. After the city was almost completely destroyed by bombing at the turn of 1944/45, efforts were made to faithfully rebuild the old city wall in the area of the town hall, which had been badly damaged.

Beda is developing into a flourishing place with hostels, traders, craftsmen, a temple, a theater and a thermal bath. The settlement was founded in 275 AD. destroyed by devastating attacks by Teutons.
