The former post office building has been a listed building since March 15th, 2004. It was built in 1928. Currently in the building are the Hotel Gasthaus ALTE POST hotel-gasthaus-altepost.de and several doctors.

New life is coming into the "Alte Post": The Italian restaurant chain "Mezzomar" will in future take over the catering offer and the hotel rooms in the listed building.

"Operations at the 'Alte Post' were discontinued on December 31, 2022, and the premises have been empty since then. Of course, GWG has tried hard to re-let the reduced catering area. There were many interested parties, many viewings, many expressions of interest. But for a variety of reasons, all interested parties ultimately canceled," regrets Stephan Patz, Managing Director of GWG, adding: "It is all the more gratifying that we can now report such a great success."
