The Babelsberg film company Ufa has been shooting scenes for the film adaptation of the autobiographical novel by Hape Kerkeling in Bismarcker Strasse Ahlmannshof, where time seems to have stood still thanks to the weathered, sooty house fronts from the beginning of 1900. The book “The boy has to get some fresh air” came out in 2014. Here scenes from the life of the entertainer were captured on the film screen. The director is none other than Oscar winner Caroline Link (“Beyond Silence”, “Nowhere in Africa”).
