Since November 2010, the city of Albstadt has owned the longest textile-reinforced concrete bridge in the world. This was planned and built by the Albstadt company Groz-Beckert. It stretches over 100m from the Stauffenberg Castle to the school grounds of the Ignaz Demeter School. In this way, it enables primary school children in particular to use the B 463 federal highway safely every day.

The impetus for the project was the demolition of a reinforced concrete bridge at the same location. This no longer met the safety standards. With a contract, the city of Albstadt and the company Groz-Beckert finally decided to build an innovative textile-reinforced concrete bridge. The city took on the costs of up to €600,000, which corresponded to the costs of a conventional reinforced concrete bridge, while Groz-Beckert took on the additional costs of over €1 million.
