At the beginning of the 20th century, before the First World War, the swimmer Sepp from Au was sitting in the Höger inn, completely disturbed. When the guests spoke to him, he replied: "Whatever happened to me, you won't believe it! Aba I met a ghost! - A quarter of an hour ago I didn't think so, but now, where I have my own eyes Longingly, how he was walking next to me, without saying a word, along the embankment, all the way to the Höger train station, - now I have to believe it! ".
A few days later the Höger railway attendant was also terrified. Because suddenly a small figure appeared next to him like a shadow during his patrol and strode along next to him. The same happened to him over the next few days. The news of the "Bahnmandl" spread like wildfire throughout the Aign. Soon nobody dared to go to the embankment in the evening. Ferl Hans from Dörfl did not want to believe the ghost and every weekend hiked the way along the embankment to the host and back again. Until one day a little Mandl accompanied him silently on the way from Dörfl to Hög. When he reported about it in a bewildered manner in the pub, no one doubted the story any more.
Until the 1930s, it is said that many people met the Bahnmandl. Only the elderly can still tell about the Höger Bahnmandl today.
