Worth seeing market with town hall and church ruins in Głogów (Glogau an der Oder)
Głogów was declared a fortress at the end of World War II and 90% of the city was destroyed.
There are therefore no old houses, but they are worth seeing.

The market square in Głogów was marked out in the 13th century, during the construction of the city on the left bank of the Oder. The first structure erected on the market square was a tower. It primarily served as a watchtower, and a prison was located in its basement. In later years, the town hall was added to the tower. Over time, important city institutions and buildings were built within the market square (the cloth hall, the scales, the guardhouse). In 1945, the market square, along with the entire city, was almost completely destroyed. It was not rebuilt until the 1980s. Since 2002, the town hall standing on the market square has once again been the seat of the city authorities.
