The construction of the church cannot be dated exactly. Certain elements, such as the design of the northern entrance portal or the pillars in the sound holes on the tower, indicate that the church was built in the 12th century due to their "developed Romanesque style". or early 13th century there. The type of building is a simple Romanesque hall church, as there are many in the district. The building is divided from east to west into an apse, which is adjoined by a somewhat wider chancel, followed by a somewhat wider nave, which in turn is closed at the end by a narrower west tower. The entire building is made of porphyry rubble. A building material that could be extracted from the local quarry here. Only the cuboids that form the building's corners, as well as the door and window walls and arches are made of sandstone.
