At the foot of the rock of Solutré settlement could be detected over five Stone Age periods. In addition, the findings of large quantities of animal bones have a great importance for the research of Stone Age hunting methods.
The finds are exhibited in the Prehistoric Museum in Solutré. This museum was built underground, so as not to disturb the overall impression of this breathtaking landscape, and can only be reached through a small entrance.
