In Timmendorfer beach was his hit "horizon". For this Udo Lindenberg got a memorial in spring 2012 in the town on the Baltic Sea - in the "Land of Horizons". The sculpture weighing several tons is right where he made his big hit. The monument stands in the dunes behind the Maritim Seehotel and was unveiled by the old rocker himself. A massive plate of ship's steel allows a view of the horizon.
The word "Horizon" and the silhouette of rock star Udo Lindenberg were cut out of the steel plate, with the isolated counterpart of the rocker positioned in front of the plate, mirrored.
The work is reminiscent of the song "Hinter dem Horizont," one of Udo Lindenberg's greatest hits, which the singer wrote in 1986 during a stay in the town.
