The RAF Quadrant Tower, Carsington Water, Derbyshire
By the shores of Carsington Water, Derbyshire stands this 1940s-built brick and concrete structure, known as the "bomb Tower" or more correctly, the "Quadrant Tower".

The whole valley is now a vast reservoir, (opened in 1992), but in the 1940s and 50s was used for bombing practice. This tower, and a sister, now lost under the waters, were used to plot & triangulate the position of the "hits"

Nice little tower nearer to the end of our walk. Informative board with the details and its nice you can walk to the top of the tower!
