The Schafbrücke is a sandstone arch bridge over the Weiße Elster. The bridge used to be called "Zollbrücke" and is located on a former military road from Magdeburg to Merseburg.

Later, the Schafbrücke was not named after the sheep farm in Ammendorf, but after the Schaaf brickworks, which had been near Planena since the early 19th century and used the Auelehm. This was supplemented in 1862 by Schaaf's second brickworks, which was built near the Saale Bridge in Schkopau. After the First World War (1914-1918), both and three other brickworks were bought up and demolished by the city of Halle to protect the tap water for the Beesen waterworks, as explained by Klaus-Dieter Heinrich (Ammendorf. From the fishing village to the secret capital of the Saalkreis, part 1 , in: Journal for Homeland Research 8 (1999), pp. 16-29). The correct spelling would therefore actually be Schaafbrücke.
